Once the rego expires on my vc I'm thinking il pull out the motor and try to learn a few things as I go..
So please be patient with me:)
Currently the motor has a leaky as hell manifold that I've lined up a performer replacement for (cheers gassedup), and a pretty rattly set of lifters and passenger rockers.
So if I'm thinking il pull the heads off while I'm at it, and put in a baby cam. I realize standard 308 comp is rubbish as far as cams go but this is as much a learning process as anything.
(In thinking a 276 type cam?)
The main question is I'd like to put a new set of heads on or reco mine.. Not fazed either way really.
What's my best option?
Ideally I'd just like the heads to be around about the L34 specifications, set up for unleaded and to have a small skim off them to bump the cr a tiny bit.
Can anyone give some advice on any if the above? Am I correct that I was told vl commodore heads came out L34 spec and ulp friendly?
What is a good Sa based shop to set the heads up for me? Ideally I'd like a "bolt on ready" set of heads..
Can anyone recommend a good budget set or roller tip rockers? Am I correct old pontiacs are the go?
