Hi Guys,
I have an HQ. was a 308, just put in a 355 Chevy with a powersteering pump. This was the only change to the steering plus hoses of course. I now have a noise which at higher revs say around 3000 rpm its worse, idle nothing at all. I thought it may have been air coming in the pump seal so had that done. Replaced the shaft as it had been machined at some stage, put a proper seal in there, fitted, fired up, checked levels, did the lock to lock turn, all good, then took it for a drive. Seems when I am slightly turning to the right on a bend it makes a noise through the steering column like air in there, but I could be wrong on this. Any suggestions? I am out of options. No leaks in the box but that should not leak air in anyhow as its under pressure anyhow right??
