Well, I did it. I made an account here, having lurked on this forum for years, for answers to those questions old Holden ownership seems to throw at you.
I've bought a 304 with a T5, which is going into ye olde HZ sedan. It's a well documented conversion, I know, but I think it'd be good to document this and (hopefully) get some answers to the many problems I'll undoubtedly encounter over the course of it.
Gonna be a slowish process, being a full time university student, working only part time, and having about 15/16ths of sod all time to work on the car. Set my completion target as late 2013/early 2014 (all certed up).
Anyways, the motor + box has, apparently, over 300,000kms on it and, having never heard it running, I'm going to basically freshen 'em up.
It'll be my first engine rebuild, but I want to do as much of it myself as possible. Hopefully the nice people here can shed some light on any problem areas.
If you're still reading this, thanks for sticking around. Here's some pictures.
The car: 1979 HZ. The usual, red 202 with a three-on-the-tree. Banjo open 3.55:1, hopefully swap out for a Salisbury LSD later (T5 means idgaf what ratio, particularly, just not 2.78 or 4.44).
Kingswood (smaller).jpg
Nothing to see here. Stocko VN V8 T5.

I can't add any more photos. Max of three has been reached, even though I can only see two here.
Anyway, that's me for today. Thanks for reading!
