I read the new Merc engines sound way different to the other supercar engines. So I had a listen on youtube and they sure do.
I also read it's because they have a flat plane crank? The article said they had to do that because Merc have never made a conventional crank V8?
Now every merc V8 I've ever heard sounded like a normal V8 and not like a Ferrari V8. But they do have a much higher pitch sound.
Anyone know whats going on here? Maybe the old crossover exhaust has come back into favour?
Also they seem bloody slow given the same power and torque. I noticed they only have 2 throttle bodies compared to the std 8 for Ford and Holden/Chev.
