Hey all new here been browsing for a while and finally decided to join up and i have a few questions for a start about an engine.
I was think between a stroked 350 chev (383), Stroked injected 5 litre (355) or an LS1 conversion.
I figure that the 350 would be the easier conversion and the ls1 the hardest but what i wanted to know was what is the cost compared to results, as in would the ls1 be worth it. How much would i have to spend on the chev and 5 litre to get the same power, i was hoping for around 500 hp.
The car is currently a 202 so i would have to have it engineered as well so what would be required for that also would it actually be possible (I'm in victoria) What is the cost for this?
I was thinking of running a Manual box if possible with a 9 inch with maybe a tru trac lsd, how would these hold up with the power? If i was going down the LS1 path i would most likely use the 6 speed, otherwise a T5
How much would the brakes have to be upgraded? I have seen the hoppers stoppers kits and also people use vt boosters would this be enough?
Would the chassis have to be strengthened at all as it isnt a full chassis, also would it pay to upgrade to RTS?
Also how much work is involved in these conversions, how much custom fab work and also any panel work etc
How much is the end up cost, it dosnt worry me too much as ive only had my p's for 6 months so i wont be driving it for about 4 years but i would like to have a bit of a guesstimate
If anyone has any information especially people that have already done these conversions or had any problems etc i would be very grateful also any photos/links to any vital parts info etc
