Trying to tick a few boxes on the jobs list, one of them is to correct an oiling issue with the 408 I've had built
A quick run down, it's for a HT, has ASR sump attached (all the bells and whistles) and a Mellings High Volume oil pump, oil used ULX110 motor pulled 638hp
the issue is, oil pressure is solid 60psi when hot all through the RPM range on the engine dyno, but between 6800 and 7200 it starts dropping off and by the time 7200 comes along it has dropped off 20psi - builder has already put in another 1.5-2ltrs of oil above what the ASR leaflet instructed -- with the HT sump, it has the dual hump and most probably is just starving one of the humps without the other hump spilling over to equalize, my idea was to drop the sump plugs and put in a line between the two and hopefully that keeps enough oil where it needs to be
a quick look on yellow bullet and people don't recommend the high volume oil pump but higher up in the HP figures it's a big hazy
really I'm looking for someone else who has had this problem, what they did to combat it...or maybe someone just to motivate me to stop thinking and just do what I'm thinking
