VS 5L Ignition nightmare

Hey....

So, a few weeks back I had a problem with my VS Stato stalling and carrying on like a needy crack whore, I got a new set of leads and some new fuel hoses and clamps and put them on. The car started and went awesome for all of 15 minutes, 10 of which where idling on the front lawn. The other 5 was a strap around the block, when it broke down. It didnt make any mechanical sounding failure noises when it died... it just cut out. Since then all it does is turn over with no fire. I thought the beast might be out of fuel so I put 20L jerry can in and still no luck. I got an MSD blaster 3 coil for it and still no luck. I pulled the dizzy cap off to check it out, its fine - so I put it back on.

This is really starting to piss me off to no ends as I need this car for my dailly driver until I get off my P's or otherwise get a new car, which as a R&D engineer, my salary is only 45k a year and I am still paying off a finance for a VE SSV that I am not allowed to drive (Thanks QLD government). I cant sell the stato with it not working, I cant morally give it to somebody so they can have the problem.

I have basically put it down to the Ignition Module, but before I go fork out $500+ for a brand new one I want to be sure. Is there a test a mechanic can do to the module without the car being presssent? I cant afford to tow my car to a mechanic pay for them to do nothing then tow it back and have to fork out hundreds of dollars for a part I could solder myself with a kit from jayco.

My last thread about the ignition problem... http://www.aussiev8.com.au/holden-v8...il-mec718.html

Thanks
Brendan
