question for the track guys - RE55-S tyres

I'm only fairly new to track days, but have found myself starting to push the limits of street tyres.
I've been very happy with the RE001's that I have fitted now, but I think they are starting to hold me back a bit now on the corners and the outer edges are copping a hiding on the front, I don't want to wear out my street tyres at that rate. I see a lot of guys on the track days running RE55's on their club cars and heard good things about them.

So was hoping a set of RE55's might shave a few seconds off my lap times. I know the wear rate on these things is really high so planning on keeping the RE55's on a set of wheels used only on the track

My only concern is I read somewhere that RE55's really need a lot of negative camber ? Obviously my car is still a street car, so I can't dial in much negative camber or I'll scrub the insides out on normal street driving.

So is there any truth to this ? Do RE55's need a lot of camber, or can they be used on street settings and still work properly ? RE55's in 225/50/16's RRP for around $430 per tyre, so I don't want to waste over $1600 in tyres if they aren't going to work and/or I'm going to stuff them with street camber settings.
