Hey guys,
ive built myself a 308 gemini burnout car, its only ever used for burnouts, not road driven. Ive always loved the sound of gear drives and ive pulled the timing cover off
in preparation for fitting a gear drive. Ive read all the bad storys, but i dont really see it as an issue, as i dont daily drive it, and i dont really expect the engine to last
forever the way its driven.
My main question really is, being that the motor is setup and running as is, i thought i could just pull the timing gear off, and (without moving anything) replace with gear drive?
but then ive read that i would need to degree the cam? is that 100% neccecary considering the motor is already timed correctly?
And, i was told the motor had the cam timing advanced 2 degrees, but the adjustable timing marks on the sprocket is set at 0. so it cant be set 2 degrees advanced can it? or can it be set 2 deg with the cam timing but not actually show it on the sprocket?
Cheers for any help!
